Goldfield and Banks

Tales of Amber is a modern ambergris perfume that reimagines the elemental beauty of nature. Blending rare New Zealand ambergris with the iconic De Laire Amber 83 accord, a rich fusion of labdanum and vanillin, this extrait de parfum captures balsamic warmth, textured contrast, and sensual depth.

At its heart, Australian agarwood, orange blossom, and iris reveal floral softness against sun-warmed earth and mineral skin. Notes of cinnamon and oud weave through the composition, adding a spicy, resinous layer to its ambery-woody soul.

Created by Goldfield & Banks’ founder Dimitri Weber in collaboration with French perfumer Suzy Le Helley, Tales of Amber balances innovation and tradition, drawing inspiration from the ocean’s mystery and Australia’s wild botanicals. As the fragrance unfolds, the gourmand glow of Amber 83 deepens, its creamy sweetness a counterpoint to ambergris’s animalic, oceanic intrigue.

A bold interpretation of an ancient material, Tales of Amber reconnects perfumery with the raw, elemental origins of scent.

Encased in molten gold and infused with precious Agarwood, Silky Woods is the aptly named debut fragrance in a new luxury collection called the Botanical Series by Goldfield & Banks.

The perfume is a more subtle, luxe and modern interpretation of agarwood (also called oud). One that is delightful to wear on any occasion and which offers a sensation of a distinctive gourmand and musky fragrance on a silky smooth skin.

Dark and excessive, Silky Woods Elixir is a smoky reawakening of the Australian agarwood originally used in Silky Woods Eau de Parfum. This exotic botanical is one of the most mysterious and revered essences in perfumery. Meticulously crafted with fig, saffron, orris, and syrupy balsam to reveal both the complex heart of agarwood and its verdant foliage, this woody and gourmand perfume is rich with luxurious intensity and sensuality.

A woody and gourmand perfume, Silky Woods Elixir is for true connoisseurs.

OLFACTORY DESCRIPTION

Silky Woods Elixir opens in flurry of green aromatics as verdant as the canopy of the agarwood groves where its essence is born. Heightened by the lushness of sun-ripened figs and the earthen verdure of fig leaves, an overdose of the hypnotic essence of Australian-grown agarwood from the world’s oldest rainforest flourishes, intensifying the depth of the composition, and painting it in rich shades of auburn and gold. Prized for centuries for its exquisite quality and rarity, the precious Oud Assafi elevates the Elixir with a lavish woodiness. The animalic and ambery notes from the Oud Assafi combined with the Australian agarwood creates the ultimate luxurious and complex Oud experience on your skin. Against this resounding intensity, iris root lends its soft touch, taming the bitter effect of the fig leaves, with rose lending an exquisite floral dimension to the perfume’s burgeoning heart. As the Elixir deepens, Tolu balsam weaves a rich tapestry, infusing warmth, and complexity into a gourmand base of oud, saffron, musk, and oakmoss.

Fresh and free-spirited, Pacific Rock Flower evokes the sunlit coastline of eastern Australia. Inspired by the native Coastal Tea Tree and its delicate white blooms, this floral aquatic woody fragrance layers Coral Flower, Cocowax and luminous Tuberose over a base of Patchouli from Indonesia and Australian Sandalwood. Pacific Rock Flower is a sparkling perfume that celebrates the salt air, wild blooms and golden sands of Australia’s coast.

Ingenious Ginger is an olfactory imagining of the unscented Torch Ginger Lily, brought to life through the native Red Back Ginger of the Atherton Tablelands. This radiant floral amber perfume opens with Bergamot from Italy, Mandarin from Brazil and the sparkle of Ginger. A heart of Magnolia from China blooms against a warm backdrop of Vanilla, Amber and Australian Sandalwood.

Mystic Bliss reflects upon the Aurora Australis, adorning the starry night sky over Tasmania. Cooled by pure Antarctic air, the delicate violet hues of fig fruit and cassis lend colour to aromatic notes of native Kunzea, cardamom, clary sage and immortelle. The vigour of cedarwood and hypnotic incense fused with the powdery softness of orris leaves a celestial trail that is grounding, calming and addictive.

As a blazing sun dips into the Indian Ocean, the scent of fragrant native fruit pervades the languorous evening breeze. A heavenly elixir of citrus and spicy delights awaits, giving way to a deliciously gourmand and sensuous floral heart. Best served at sunset hour!

Fun and frivolous from the onset, Sunset Hour opens with a crisp pear, mandarin and desert peach accord – a tart peach- and rhubarb-nuanced fruity note with a distinctive salt crusted, sun-kissed skin feel. Carrying through the heart, jasmine’s rich white floralcy with green mango, ginger and coconut cream enhance the tropical exoticism of the desert peach as pink pepper lends sharpness to this central ingredient’s tartness. All the while, Australian sandalwood, itself a close relative of the Quandong, provides a spiced-green-woodsy springboard for the fruity decadence of the coconut and desert peach, which carry through to the plush musk-vanilla base.
